Windows 7 (BETA)

With less than a year to go before launch, windows 7 is in much better shape than Windows Vista was at the same time, and it feels like a much more usable operating system than even Windows XP did during its beta phase.

What’s new with windows 7:

Computers Fans Replacement:

If the warning signs are there: spontenuous reboots, especially on warmer days or with the heat blasting in winter time; occasional alarms from the tiny PC speaker; lockups; excessvely loud fans. Check the fans and replace when necessary.

Symptoms of RAM Errors:

  • System won't boot, accompanied by a loud, continiously replacing beep.
  • System boots, but the display screen is blank.
  • System boots, misreports RAM size.
  • System boots, reports memory or address error.

Replacing the CMOS Battery:

When CMOS batteries fail, they do so gradually. The first and best indicator that a PC's CMOS battery is dying is that the PC starts to lose time. If you notice that your PC's clock is running slow, or if you're consistently prompted to enter the date and time when you boot the PC, it's time to replace the CMOS battery.
Note: it's very important that the voltage of the replacement battery match the original. Check your motherboard's documentation to determine the correct battery for your system.

Dual Search Engine

Search more than one search engine at a time- Releton Web (http://www.releton.com/) combines the search power of both google and yahoo.

Computing Tips

64 bit Processors:
A 64-bit CPU is that the processor has registers that hold data before and after processing. The registers are 64 bits wide, meanings they can handle 64 bit wide code in one pass-twice as wide as a 32-bit processor. And they can address much more memory. Both AMD and Intel currently produce 64-bit CPUs.

Muticore CPUs:
CPU clock speeds hit a pratical limit of roughly 4 Ghz around the years 2002-2003, motivating the CPU makers to find new ways to get more processing power to CPUs. Although Intel and AMD had different opinions about 64-bit CPUs, both decided at virtually the same time to continue two CPUs into a single chip, creating dual-core CPU architecture. Dual-core isn't just two CPUs on the same ship. A dual-core CPU has two execution units-two sets of pipelines.

Clock Speed:
The CPU clock speed tells you how many calculation cycles a CPU can (in theory) execute per second.
one calculation cycle per second is equal to 1 hertz.

Electrical Storm:
Make sure you know that in the event of an electrical storm, the only way to protect your system is to unplug it completely, plus all periferals with external power cords.
